Managers with £10tn of assets add clout to UK drive for greater gender diversity

Twenty-seven global investors with £10.5tn of assets under management have signed up to an initiative to promote more women to the senior management and boards of British companies in which they invest.
Investors including Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund, the largest pension fund in the world, JPMorgan Asset Management, Standard Life and BlackRock will push companies for 30 per cent of women on FTSE 350 boards and 30 per cent of women in senior management at FTSE 100 companies by 2020.
The statement of intent signed by the companies, which will engage with board chairs and nomination committees, was co-ordinated by the 30% Club, the campaign group for greater participation of women in top corporate jobs.
