brokerage - a company that buys and sells investments on the market

brokerage account - an account that allow you to buy and sell investments

dividend - a percentage rate that a company pays its shareholders quarterly

index - a group of stocks/investments meant to represent a business industry

market - place where investments are bought and sold

market valuation - the total value of a company based on the individual share price multiplied by their total number of shares

return - sum of money earned in the form of a dividend and/or increased share value

share - one unit of stock

share price - cost of one unit of stock

share value - cost of one unit of stock

shareholder - a person that owns stock in a company

stock - a small piece of ownership in a company

trading fee - an amount charge to buy or sell stock
